Sella Bila Pec (which in Slovene means ‘white stone’) is located on the south side of the peak of the same name. Near the saddle, also known as Sella Canin, lie the ruins of barracks from the First World War, which were once linked to the Val Raccolana by a cableway. As a matter of fact, the saddle and the entire Canin Massif were the backdrop to many grim events during the First World War and there still are many visible traces such as mule tracks, trenches, hideouts, etc.
This is an area of extraordinary interest in terms of the landscape, fauna and flora, where it is not uncommon to come across marmots and endemic species such as the Julian poppy (Papaver julicum).
