In the past, this pasture which is no longer in use, would be used to graze around fifty cows. The presence of springs (kal in Slovene means ‘pool’) and the fertile land led to the shelter being built here despite the steep slope and the risk of avalanches.
Located to the north of the village of Uccea, this is one of the most interesting places from which to observe the wild fauna. In the summer, transhumant flocks are a common sight.
