The Sella Carnizza is a wide saddle of glacial origin which constitutes the divide between the catchment basins of the Tagliamento and Isonzo rivers. Near the saddle, in the village used by the inhabitants of Gniva during the summer, are the Gnivizza lodges, which were used when the villagers led their cattle to pasture.
Here one can admire the rural constructions which even today retain their original basic forms. The buildings, consisting of a single room housed within the four external walls, have recently been faithfully restored.
